Automobile production "big tonnage" is subject to severe investigation
In response to growing concerns over the production of large-ton, small-scale vehicles by automobile manufacturers, authorities have announced strict enforcement measures. According to a report from the Provincial Economy Commission, the province has implemented new regulations aimed at tightening control over vehicle production and product compliance. These measures are part of a broader initiative by the National Development and Reform Commission to ensure that all automotive enterprises adhere to national standards and technical specifications.
Under the new guidelines, all local car manufacturers are required to strictly follow the "National Automobile Development Enterprises and Products Announcement" issued by the central government. This includes ensuring that existing vehicles do not violate technical parameters such as "large tonnage and small scale." Any attempts by manufacturers to alter or modify vehicle specifications in an illegal manner will be met with severe penalties. The goal is to eliminate the production and sale of non-compliant vehicles, including those that are improperly modified.
Furthermore, all automobile manufacturers must conduct thorough internal audits of their production facilities and product listings. If discrepancies are found between the company's registered address and its certificate of conformity, they must reapply for necessary approvals. Companies operating from unauthorized locations or engaging in unapproved joint ventures will be required to cease operations immediately. Each enterprise must also review its production conditions against the "Automobile Production Condition Assessment Criteria" and make any necessary improvements to meet regulatory requirements.
Additionally, the Provincial Economic Commission emphasized that starting June 1 this year, three-wheeled and four-wheeled agricultural transport vehicles will be reclassified as "three-wheeled vehicles" and "low-speed trucks." Manufacturers producing these types of vehicles must submit applications for product name changes through the official declaration system by November 10. Those who fail to apply by December 31 will lose their production licenses. From January 1, 2007, any products that do not conform to the naming rules set forth in the "Announcement of Automobile Production Enterprises and Products" will be removed from the list and cannot be sold anymore.
These updates reflect a comprehensive effort to bring the automotive industry into full compliance with national regulations, ensuring safer, more transparent, and environmentally responsible vehicle production.
