Automobile production "big tonnage" is subject to severe investigation
In response to growing concerns over the production of large-ton but small-scale vehicles within the automotive industry, authorities have announced strict enforcement measures against violators. According to a recent report from the Provincial Economy Commission, the province has launched a comprehensive initiative to tighten control over vehicle manufacturers and their product lines. This move comes as part of broader national efforts to ensure compliance with technical standards and improve road safety.
Under the new regulations, all local automobile manufacturers are required to strictly adhere to the technical specifications outlined in the "National Automobile Development Enterprises and Products Announcement" issued by the National Development and Reform Commission. Companies must also revise the technical parameters of existing "large-ton small-scale" vehicles across the region. It is now explicitly prohibited for manufacturers to produce or sell modified vehicles that violate these rules. The goal is to eliminate illegal modifications and stop the production of vehicles that do not meet safety and environmental standards.
Furthermore, all auto manufacturers are tasked with conducting a thorough review of their production facilities and product listings. Any discrepancies between the registered production addresses and the official certificates of conformity must be corrected immediately. Local authorities will conduct inspections to identify and shut down unauthorized production sites or joint ventures operating outside their licensed locations. Each company is also required to perform a full self-assessment based on the State's "Automobile Production Condition Assessment Criteria" to ensure they meet all regulatory requirements.
In addition, the Provincial Economic Commission emphasized that from June 1 this year, the classification of certain agricultural transport vehicles has been updated. Previously known as three-wheeled and four-wheeled agricultural transport vehicles, they are now officially referred to as "three-wheeled vehicles" and "low-speed trucks." Manufacturers producing these types of vehicles must submit applications for product name changes through the official declaration system by November 10. Those who fail to apply by December 31 will lose their production licenses. Starting January 1, 2007, any products that do not comply with the naming regulations in the "Announcement of Automobile Production Enterprises and Products" will be removed from the list and cannot be sold anymore.
This sweeping regulatory update reflects the government’s commitment to improving vehicle safety, reducing illegal modifications, and promoting transparency in the automotive industry. Manufacturers are urged to act swiftly and ensure full compliance with the new rules to avoid penalties and maintain their operational licenses.
