Bimetal thermometer structural features and working principle:
The bimetal thermometer uses a thermal bimetallic strip wound in a spiral shape as a temperature sensing element and is mounted in a protective sleeve with one end fixed (fixed end) and the other end (free end) connected to a thin shaft. The shaft end is equipped with a pointer. When the temperature changes, the free end of the temperature sensing element rotates, so that the fine axis drives the pointer to produce angular displacement, indicating the change of temperature on the dial; the straight type table drives the pointer through the steering transmission mechanism. Since the temperature sensing element has a linear relationship with the temperature change, the position indicated by the bimetal thermometer pointer is the measured temperature value. The case materials include steel plate, cast alloy and stainless steel plate; the detection element also has a core-pull structure; the head part of the adjustable angle thermometer can be changed from angle type to straight type or from straight type by means of bellows, corner mechanism and other parts. Electrical contact bimetal thermometers add electrical contacts, adjustment devices, and outlet boxes to the structure. Bimetal thermometers work by using the principle of different degrees of expansion when two different metals change in temperature. In order to improve the sensitivity of temperature measurement, the metal sheet is usually made into a spiral roll shape. When the temperature of the multilayer metal sheet is changed, the amount of metal expansion or contraction of each layer is not equal, so that the spiral roll is rolled up or loosened. Since one end of the spiral coil is fixed and the other end is connected to a freely rotatable pointer, when the bimetal feels a temperature change, the pointer can indicate the temperature on a circular graduated scale. The temperature range of this bimetal thermometer is 200~650°C, and the allowable error is about 1% of the two-way scale. This thermometer is similar to a rod-shaped glass liquid thermometer, but it can be used under higher mechanical strength requirements.
