House fire in Buffalo Grove, 1-5-21
On Tuesday afternoon, January 5, 2021, firefighters and police from Buffalo Grove were called to 134 Golfview Terrace after a house fire was reported. The Buffalo Grove Police Department arrived first on the scene and observed flames coming through the roof of the residence. Based on the initial report, Buffalo Grove Battalion 4 upgraded the incident to a Code 4 working fire. The smoke and flames were visible from over a mile away.
Tower Ladder 25 was the first fire company to arrive, followed by Arlington Heights Engine 4. Firefighters quickly deployed a hose line to the rear of the structure, effectively controlling the exterior fire. A second line was then brought inside to tackle the blaze from within.
As more units arrived, two additional hand lines were pulled, and the remaining fire was fully extinguished. Several other departments responded, including Buffalo Grove Tower 25, Engine 27, Ambulance 25, Battalion 4, 408, 401, MobileCom, and Squad 25. Additional crews came from surrounding areas, such as Arlington Heights Engine 4 and Battalion 1, Rolling Meadows Quint 15, Palatine Engine 82, Prospect Heights Engine 9, Long Grove Tanker 55 and Battalion 55, a Barrington ambulance and chief, Libertyville Squad 462, along with ambulances from Lake Forest and Nunda Rural FPD.
The fire caused significant damage to the home, but no injuries were reported. Emergency responders worked efficiently to contain the fire and ensure the safety of the neighborhood. Photos and video footage captured the intensity of the flames and the efforts of the responding units.
