Chicago Still Alarm fire 8-24-13

This report comes from San Shevlin:

On August 24, 2013, around 0615 hours, a fire was reported in the 5300 block of South Shields. The incident involved smoke coming from a story-and-a-half frame house, facing northbound. Fire was observed inside the walls and had spread into the attic. A single line was deployed, and the roof was opened. By the time I arrived, the fire was already under control and fully extinguished.
Fire companies on scene: 84, 50, 361, 328, 247, 555, 273 – Rescue 3210, 249.

These photos were taken by Dan Shevlin during the response. It's always interesting to see how quickly crews can get a fire under control, especially when it's in the walls and attic. The fact that it was out before I arrived shows the efficiency of the first responders. It’s a reminder of how important early detection and quick action are in these types of incidents. Looking at the images, you can see the intensity of the fire and the effort put in by the firefighters to contain it. Another example of why we rely so much on our team's experience and training.
