Tognum and Ronaldo won two orders

Professional propulsion and power solutions provider Tognum and global powertrain company Rolls-Royce have received two orders for marine engines and propeller systems.

It is reported that Tognum will provide 12 MTU engines for Brazilian shipping company Camorim to power six port tugs. Tognum will also supply four marine generators to the Norwegian shipyard Fjellstrand. The total order value of Tognum's two orders is about 5.8 million euros.

The first order included 12 MTU 16V 4000 M63 engines, two of which were used to power the Rolls-Royce rudder system for six tugs. Each engine has a power of 2000 kW and an order value of approximately 3 million Euros.

The second order is for four marine generator sets based on the MTU 16V 4000 M23S engine, with a single output of 1840kW for propelling a multi-purpose offshore craft. The engine also supports the Rolls-Royce propeller and automation system on board, and the Tognum order is worth about 2 million Euros.

Joachim Coers, CEO of Tognum AG, said, "The acquisition of these orders proves that our cooperation with the new major shareholders Rolls-Royce and Daimler is on the right track. The Brazilian marine engine market is continuing to develop, for us to have huge potential."

All engines are expected to be delivered by the end of 2012.
