A visit to O’Hare Airport

This is from Mike Lopina: While I was at O’Hare (ORD) for the annual ARFF and Haz-Mat training, I had the chance to capture some of the rigs in action between drills. 5-3-1 is a Zumro unit equipped with a tent, HVAC gear for the Zumro, and decon equipment, and it's stationed at ORD Rescue Station 1. 8-8-1A is currently based at the AMC building on the airport grounds. 6-5-7S (Spare), Engine 9, and the new 2-7-8 were at the training facility practicing setting up the Zumro tent. 6-5-T is the training rig for the pit, and it’s a 1988 Oshkosh T-3000 crash truck. 2-9-8 serves as the training officer for ORD, and 2-9-12 is the coordinator for the live fire simulators. Also attached are photos of Lockport Rescue 6 preparing to attack a fire in the pit, and Orland Engine 8 (Reserve) operating handlines during the pit and Wheel/Brake/Interior simulator exercises.
