Rosenbauer shared the following on their Facebook page today: Rosenbauer Receives Order for Two-Piece Squad Company Apparatus for Chicago Fire Department WYOMING, MN (January 28, 2013) – Rosenbauer has secured a five-year contract with the Chicago Fire Department to replace its two-piece Squad Companies. The first order includes two Rosenbauer 55′ Articulating Cobra Platforms (ACP-55) and two Walk-In Rescues, all built on the innovative Rosenbauer Commander chassis introduced in 2012. “We are proud to support the Chicago Fire Department,†said Harold Boer, President of Rosenbauer America. “It’s an honor that the CFD has selected the Commander chassis for their squad companies, and we believe it will serve them exceptionally well. The heavy-duty 3/16″ EXT extruded aluminum body comes with a lifetime transferable warranty, providing over 400 cubic feet of storage space. Each ACP-55 is equipped with a 750-pound tip load and can deliver up to 1250 GPM. Key features include Smart Aerial technology, Soft-Touch controls, and hot-dipped galvanized torque boxes and outriggers with a 25-year corrosion warranty. The second part of the squad company consists of two Walk-In Rescues built on the same Commander chassis. These units have a 60-inch cab with a 24-inch raised roof, accommodating six people. The 18-foot rescue body also uses the robust EXT construction and offers more than 600 cubic feet of storage space.
