Chicago working fire, 11-19-16
I just received this update from Larry Shapiro regarding a fire incident that happened early Saturday morning (November 19, 2016) at 2310 W. Jackson Boulevard. According to him, the fire was already under control by the time he got there. From what he gathered, it seemed like there was a small fire on the roof. He mentioned hearing something about roofers having been at the location earlier in the day. Unfortunately, an ambulance transported one firefighter who had suffered some kind of injury.
Attached below are some photos taken by Larry Shapiro showing the scene with Chicago’s firefighting vehicles on standby. You can see Engine 26 and Tower Ladder 5 parked nearby, ready to assist if needed. There's also a shot featuring Ambulance 44, which was dispatched for the injured firefighter. Additionally, Engine 104 is visible in another image, standing by as part of the emergency response team.
It's always concerning when incidents like these occur, especially when members of our community—like firefighters—are put at risk while performing their duties. Let’s hope everyone involved recovers quickly from any injuries sustained during this event. If you have any further details or updates, feel free to share them here so we can keep each other informed.
