The center is based on the Guangdong University of Petroleum and Chemical Engineering and was approved by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education in 2008. It is the first engineering center approved by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education. The center has well-established research and development of petrochemical pollution control and clean production technologies, achievement transformation, personnel training and academic exchange platforms, and forms a petrochemical process and clean production technology, comprehensive utilization technology of pollution control and resources, environmental protection catalysis and green Synthetic technology, bio-refining and upgrading technology have four distinctive research directions. Since its establishment, the center has undertaken 177 research projects of all kinds and has obtained 12 provincial and municipal science and technology awards. Some of the scientific and technological achievements have been promoted and applied in enterprises, and each year has produced more than 40 million yuan of economic benefits for the company.
