Working fire in Chicago, 2-21-22

Here's a report from Chi-Town Fire Photos:

We arrived at a scrap yard fire on Monday at 4430 W. 14th Street. Engine 103 was the first to respond, as they were on a COQ at 38’s house while 38 was out at a fire in the 1400 block of Avers. Engine 113 provided in-line pumping support for Engine 103 and Squad 1 to help knock down the pile of scrap. The companies on scene included Engines 103 and 113, Trucks 19 and 26, Squad 1, Battalion 18, and 2-2-4. It looked like a well-coordinated response with multiple units working together to contain the blaze.

The incident seemed to be under control by the time we got there, but it was clear that the crews worked quickly and efficiently. Scrap yards can be dangerous due to the potential for hidden fires or explosive materials, so it’s always good to see trained personnel on the scene.
