Metro North Emergency Support Services Metro North Emergency Support Services Inc. (M.N.E.S.S. Inc.) is a non-profit organization established under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Our mission is to support emergency personnel and provide essential services during critical incidents. As a 501(c)(3) entity, all donations made to us are tax-deductible in accordance with U.S. federal tax guidelines. Upon making a donation, we will send you a thank-you letter that serves as proof for your tax records. This helps ensure that your contribution is recognized properly by the IRS. The purpose of M.N.E.S.S. Inc. is to support the well-being of emergency responders, including firefighters, paramedics, EMTs, police officers, sheriffs, troopers, and other first responders. We also assist civilian victims of emergencies and provide services at Line of Duty Deaths (L.O.D.D.) events in Cook, Lake, and McHenry counties in Illinois. We operate two canteen-rehab vehicles and a portable toilet trailer unit, stationed at firehouses in the northern suburbs of Illinois. These resources are available 24/7 to serve emergency personnel with food, drinks, and rest areas during long-running incidents such as fires, floods, and major accidents. Our portable restroom units help protect the dignity of first responders, especially in situations where privacy is limited. With the rise of social media, it's crucial for our emergency workers to have access to private facilities without the risk of being photographed in vulnerable moments. Volunteers from M.N.E.S.S. Inc. are always on call and respond to a wide range of emergencies, including hazardous material spills, water rescues, plane crashes, and more. We also support special operations like SWAT missions and active shooter scenarios. Our organization is funded entirely through donations from local fire and police departments, as well as the general public and businesses who support our cause. All contributions, whether monetary or in-kind, are tax-deductible under IRS regulations. Expenses include vehicle maintenance, insurance, fuel, office supplies, and operational costs. We rely on the generosity of our community to continue serving those who protect us every day. Metro North Emergency Support Services Inc. was formed after the previous organization, Metropolitan Emergency Support Services Inc., ceased operations due to the pandemic. Now, with a new team of experienced volunteers, we are rebuilding and expanding our services to meet the needs of emergency responders once again. We welcome individuals aged 20 and older who are passionate about supporting the fire and emergency services. Metro North Emergency Support Services Inc. is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) civic charity. We’re launching a new emergency rehab-canteen service in the northern suburbs of Cook and Lake Counties, providing hydration and nutrition to first responders at both emergency and non-emergency scenes. We offer services to firefighters, EMS, police, sheriffs, troopers, and all federal, state, and local emergency agencies. We also assist civilian victims of fires and other disasters. We are currently accepting applications for drivers and helpers to respond to emergencies 24/7. Retired or employed drivers with availability during daytime hours are especially encouraged to apply.
