Unexplained prospects for new energy applications Market competition is heating up

Many visitors gathered at the booth of Shanghai International Automobile City Industrial Development Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Shanghai Motor City"), where a two-seat mini-vehicle was parked. Huang Junyi stood by the car and the “surge crowd” constantly explained: “This car is still a sample, there is no price... The top speed is only 50 kilometers. How do you think that you are going outside?”

At the site of the China International Industry Fair in 2009, as part of the environmental technology and equipment exhibition, the theme of the Shanghai Auto City booth was the new energy vehicle. The three core components of the new energy vehicle were ranked in turn: electronic control, batteries and electric motors. They were from Shanghai Automotive City, Tongji University Automotive College, Suzhou Xingheng Power Co., Ltd., and other companies. Huang Junyi is from Tongji University and is responsible for the electronic control part of new energy vehicles.

Blooming Industry and Research Alliance

The mini vehicle used for display by Shanghai Automobile City is indicated to be used in a fixed place, such as in the factory area or in hotels and restaurants of enterprises and institutions. It is designed as a commuter vehicle and is dismantled in the second row of cars. It can be used to Put the goods, of course, the main purpose is to place the battery.
This car with knocking marks represents a certain state of China’s new energy vehicles : Many domestic companies, colleges, and government agencies have great hope and confidence in new energy vehicles. Ways to participate in this wave come; because there is no large-scale application, all research is in an exploratory stage, the business prospects are unknown.

Huang Junyi expressed optimism about the future. As he was responsible for the electronic control part, he stated that his field of work is virtually undifferentiated between ordinary cars and new energy vehicles. They are interoperable with each other, and improvements in the electronic control part are widely used in internal combustion engine-driven cars. .

At this stage, almost all new energy vehicles are faced with the same challenge - the battery's energy density is too small, the same size battery is far from gasoline. Therefore, many technologies, as described by Huang Junyi, must have a transitional color that can be used for ordinary cars and can be grafted onto new energy vehicles so that they can be widely promoted.

University is the cradle of China's new energy vehicle R&D. Universities represented by Tongji University and Beijing Institute of Technology all play an important role in the wave of new energy vehicles. Taking Tongji University as an example, in recent years, it has conducted extensive and extensive cooperation with SAIC and established a research and development industry alliance for industrial new energy vehicles in 2005 with Shanghai Jiaotong University and SAIC Group, which opened the door to many domestic new energy automobile industry alliances.

Since 2008, domestic industrial alliances have emerged in a concentrated manner. In Chongqing, Chongqing’s energy-saving and new energy auto industry alliance was initiated by 30 companies including Chang’an Automobile [15.34 0.59%], China Automotive Engineering Research Institute, Hengtong Bus, and Lifan Auto; in Beijing, Beijing Automotive and Beijing Automotive Group In March this year, Beijing Institute of Technology and other organizations jointly initiated the establishment of a new energy automotive industry alliance. In addition, Jilin, Wuhan, Jinan and other places all rely on the local major automobile manufacturers to make progress in the field of new energy vehicles .

However, behind the hurricane of the industry-university-research-and-research alliance, private companies are also ready to go beyond corners.

Full competition

Opposite the booth of Shanghai Auto City, four large vehicles are parked next to the booth of Shanghai Leibo New Energy Automotive Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Shanghai Leibo”) under the State Grid Corporation of China. Separately, but they all have different "hearts" inside. They are new energy vehicles powered by lithium batteries and super capacitors.

These vehicles have already achieved certain commercial applications. The products running on Shanghai's 825 bus line are Shanghai Leibo's products. As a force other than colleges and traditional automobile manufacturers, Shanghai Leibo is a joint venture between State Grid and Shanghai Ruihua Group with a 55:45 equity ratio.

As part of the national grid, Shanghai Leibo enjoys unique advantages in the construction of future charging facilities and in the signing of standards; at the same time, Shanghai Leibo will directly hold the Ankai bus at the other end of the industrial chain. The frame and casing of the traditional passenger car are produced, and the key powertrain is provided by Shanghai Leibo.

After installing 2 tons of batteries and capacitors, the new energy bus has a mileage of 300 kilometers, a speed of up to 80 kilometers per hour, and a service life of about 8 years. However, all this has a price, the entire car price of 2.6 million yuan, ordinary passenger car is only 900,000 yuan. After obtaining a total of 1.1 million yuan in subsidies from the government at both the national and Shanghai levels, the car is still worth 600,000 yuan more than ordinary passenger cars.

Even so, Yu Guangyi, the regional sales director of Shanghai Leibo, told CBN that the main sales target of the vehicles was 13 cities involved in the national “Ten Thousand Cities” program. At present, Shanghai Leibo plans to achieve the company's IPO in the next three years, raising at least 4 billion yuan, and sales revenue will reach 30 billion yuan within 5 years, and profits will reach 4 billion yuan, becoming a leading company in the large electric vehicle industry. It is clear that the level of enthusiasm of all levels of government for new energy vehicles is the key to Shanghai Lebo’s willingness to gamble on the future.

Similar to Shanghai Leibo, in June this year Zhejiang Wanxiang Group invested more than 1 billion yuan in the new energy industry base broke ground, will produce 1000 pure electric passenger cars , 100,000 sets of electric vehicle lithium battery system in 2010.

The "1,000-unit" bus program launched in 13 cities allowed Lebow and Wanxiang to see an immense cake, and they were reluctant to sit back and eat traditionally.

As the most powerful competitor of new energy vehicles in the same city, the SAIC Group's new energy booth was set up opposite Shanghai Leibo at the Industry Expo. The six cars displayed at one time involved pure electric, super-capacitors, and fuel. Battery, hybrid and other four types. As the leader of the national automobile industry, SAIC apparently did not want to miss any chance after competition started.
