Atlas Copco is the first to pass compressed air certification

Antwerp: Atlas Copco Oil Free Air announced that the company's Z-Series oil-free screw air compressors have become the world's first TÜV-certified ISO8573-1CLASS0 standard. This product effectively eliminates any risk of contamination due to the presence of oil in food and beverage processing, pharmaceutical manufacturing and packaging, electronics manufacturing, autopainting, powder coatings and textile manufacturing. The certification adopts the most stringent test method, simulates the actual industrial installation environment, and can not find oil traces under various test conditions, and the compressed air reaches the “Class0” level to the highest standard in terms of oil content.

Oil-free air helps risk management

Even if the oil content is negligible, the resulting pollution is enough to cause damage to ingredients or products, high failure rates and return rates, and the cost of being forced to stop production and purify. Industries that pose a risk of product contamination due to the presence of oil abound, they will be forced to face many problems such as product recalls and legal proceedings, and have to face the negative impact of these actions on the company's reputation and brand equity. Certification process

Customers' concerns about safeguarding their industrial processes and the quality of their final products are already on the horizon, and as such, Atlas Copco's Oil-Free Air Division often receives air from its Z-series oil-free screw air compressors. A request for certification of quality level. The division launched the ISO 8573-1 standard certification procedure for its compressors in 2005.

In order to carry out this test, Atlas Copco chose the independent TechnischeÃœberwachungs-Verein (German Technical Supervision Association or "TÃœV") to evaluate the compressor. At the request of Atlas Copco, TÃœV adopted the most stringent test methods available and added further temperature and pressure constraints. The test results are well known and it turns out that even under the most stringent test conditions, there is no trace of oil.

The ISO8573-1 compressed air standard promulgated in 1991 has been revised in 2001 to pay more attention to the requirements of air purity for strict applications. The revised standard establishes a more comprehensive measurement method, which includes all three forms of air compressor oil contamination – aerosols, vapors and liquids. The new standard reflects the quality of the air more realistically. On the basis of the existing one to five purity, a more stringent grade emerges: ISO8573-1CLASS0.

This machine use Taiwan made BT50 spindle, inner cooling type, high accuracy spindle. It can use carbide drill. Machine also adopts pneumatic play knife cylinder, to make tool change more easier.
