Honeywell: Turbocharged Engine Sales Double in 2015

Honeywell (NYSE:HON), the world's leading developer of automotive turbochargers, predicts that the global turbine market will double in sales in the next five years. In 2009, the global sales of turbine engines totaled 17 million units. In 2015, this figure will reach 35 million units.

By 2015, the share of turbocharged engines in the Chinese market will increase from nearly 10% to 20%; the share of turbocharged engines in the US market will increase from the current 5% to 20%, and the annual sales volume will be 1 million units from now. Increased to 4 million units.

Honeywell also expects that by 2015 global commercial vehicle turbocharged engine sales will increase from 3.5 million units in 2009 to 6 million units.

Honeywell's forecast is based on the collected IHS Global Insight (Global Vision Consulting), J. D. Power and R. L. Polk and other companies analyzed the data and combined with customer expectations and interviews with authoritative professionals.

The increasingly stringent global fuel economy and emission standards, coupled with consumer demand for more affordable and fuel-efficient vehicles, have led automakers to focus on turbocharging. This technology can help gasoline and diesel vehicles to save up to 20% and 40%, respectively, without compromising performance. At the same time, significant cost savings can be achieved compared to hybrid and electric vehicles.

Mr. Alex Ismail, President and CEO of Honeywell Transportation Systems Group stated: “In the passenger and commercial vehicle markets in the United States and China, we have seen strong growth in demand for turbo equipment. In addition, turbocharger It is expected to achieve growth in new areas, such as Europe where the technology is most popular, but this time it is in the field of small gasoline engines. Although there are many reports on hybrid and electric vehicles, the automakers obviously pay attention to it. Put on turbocharged engine technology to achieve vehicle energy savings and comply with increasingly stringent emissions and energy efficiency standards.”

In all of these regions, the rapid increase in turbocharged is mainly due to the small gasoline turbocharged engines favored everywhere.

In China, for example, the Honeywell Turbo Technology Division, a business unit of the Honeywell Transportation Systems Group, recently announced two new gasoline turbocharging projects: a small row for GAC-Fiat and JAC. The number of gasoline engines is turbochargers, of which Guangzhou Automobile uses 1.4 to 1.6L engines and Jianghuai has 1.5L engines. JAC and Honeywell previously had a diesel turbocharger cooperation project in China. Honeywell currently has joint development projects with more than a dozen Chinese automakers.

Mr. Gao Dinggui, General Manager of Honeywell's Turbocharged Technology Department, said: “Honeywell turbochargers have been increasingly recognized by the industry in China, and have recently been named the '2010 Most Competitive Motor Vehicle by Gasgoo.com'. We are very pleased to be able to stand out in a series of independent evaluations of OEMs, auto parts buyers and industry experts, and have been named the most competitive turbocharger brand in China. Further consolidated our leading position in the industry."

Gasgoo.com is operated by Gasgo Group and is the largest automotive B2B platform in China with more than 80,000 global buyers and 12,000 verified member suppliers. The "100 Most Competitive Suppliers of Auto Parts Suppliers" campaign was strongly supported by the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

There were 3,000 candidate brands participating in the selection, and they were screened out of the top 300 through the first round of rigorous independent evaluation process, and announced the list of the top 100 in the awarding ceremony on September 24, 2010.

Participating in the assessment also included 20,000 readers of Auto News. The participating products were finally scored by a jury of leading Chinese OEMs and industry experts from well-known universities in China. Participating vendors included FAW-Volkswagen, SAIC, GM China, and BMW.
Recently, the global announcement of Honeywell turbocharged cars, including the US Chevrolet ChevyCruze 2011 sedan, the world's most fuel-efficient five-seat car - the European 2010 Volkswagen Polo car, BMW with turbo gasoline and electric hybrid engine X-6ActiveHybrid and Ford EcoBoostV6. In addition, Ford recently unveiled its 2011F-Series SuperDuty diesel line, which uses Honeywell's DualBoost turbines for its 6.7L PowerStroke engine.

Camshaft Position Sensor detects the camshaft's speed, position, acceleration, and even deceleration. This is important because this information is used to control ignition timing and fuel injection timing. Information on these is sent by the sensors to the engine management system, which makes the adjustments needed for the fuel injection's timing. With a properly working Sensor, your engine can run smoothly and more economically. Meaning, you'll have less engine problems while you're able to save fuel at the same time.
