Last night, the Arlington Heights Fire Department received a call about a fire at a home located at 901 W. Lynwood Avenue. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy smoke and immediately upgraded the incident to a Code 4 working fire. This prompted additional units from Palatine and Buffalo Grove to respond. The fire, which was limited to furniture inside the house, was quickly brought under control. According to the *Daily Herald*, the property sustained significant smoke damage and was later declared uninhabitable.
The fire occurred around 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, and the structure was a single-story ranch-style home. Fire officials confirmed that while the living room suffered extensive fire damage, the overall structural integrity of the house remained intact. No injuries were reported, as the residents were not present at the time of the fire.
Arlington Heights Engine 2 was the first unit on scene and faced a house fully engulfed in smoke upon arrival. Additional resources included a tower ladder, two engines, two ambulances, both squad units, and a battalion chief. Firefighters worked swiftly to contain the blaze, and charred furniture was removed from the home after the fire was extinguished.
