Area departments commemorate 9/11

Today marks the 9th anniversary of the tragic 9/11 attacks, and many local fire departments paid their respects through solemn ceremonies. I just got back from capturing some powerful moments at the Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Fire Protection District and the Palatine Rural Fire Protection District. It was an emotional day filled with reverence and remembrance. At the Lincolnshire-Riverwoods FPD, the scene was particularly moving as members of the Lake County Honor Guard lowered the flag at Station 541 to half-mast. The gesture was part of their tribute to those who lost their lives during the attacks. As the sun rose, the Lincolnshire-Riverwoods apparatus lined up at Station 51, perfectly mimicking the FDNY's initial response to the World Trade Center disaster. It was striking to see them pull up exactly at the time of the original dispatch. Following that, all uniformed firefighters and police officers gathered for a flag ceremony that felt both personal and profound. I also captured some unforgettable images over at the Palatine Rural FPD. Despite the rain, a Color Guard from the Palatine American Legion proudly presented the colors, accompanied by bagpipers and a drummer. Their music resonated deeply, setting the tone for the somber occasion. A wreath was placed at the flagpole outside Station 36 on Ela Road, adding another layer of symbolism to the day’s events. Members of the IAFF Honor Guard then raised the flag to half-mast, ensuring that the memory of those lost would not be forgotten. It’s always humbling to document these ceremonies because they remind us of the sacrifices made by so many brave individuals. Each department found its own way to honor the fallen, but the shared sentiment of unity and respect was palpable throughout. The dedication of these first responders is inspiring, and it's something that stays with you long after the cameras are put away. If you're interested in seeing more, there are additional photos from both ceremonies available in the galleries linked here. These moments serve as a poignant reminder of the courage and resilience displayed by our local fire and police departments.

Rail Bender

Guaranteeing electrical safety and availability is an important element of a smooth railway operation. This applies to signal boxes, signal systems, operational buildings, tunnels and bridges and to all rolling stock, train units in the form of locomotives and carriages. Rail bender system solutions monitor electrical systems and equipment on the railways and ensure the necessary edge in terms of information before critical circumstances arise.
USB port for external storage, a growing tooling library for square and round tubing, and early mandrel retraction to endure a smooth bend every time. This bender is capable of bending 100 degrees and can make a 90 degree bend in less than 10 seconds.
