Zhang Jin stated that many equipment, including chemical equipment, are moving toward high speed, high precision, and large scale. In recent years, the trend of large-scale chemical equipment has become more and more obvious, which raises many new issues for the metal manufacturing industry, especially how to improve the accuracy of large-scale equipment supporting metal parts. For the forging industry, parts and components for chemical industry have basically been self-sufficient. Among them, the medium and low-pressure chemical equipment can be fully self-supported domestically, and some high-pressure components still need to be imported. In the area of ​​large-scale parts, China has also achieved some results, such as the current can already produce almost all of the power plant with large forgings, the largest ingot reaches 400 ~ 500 tons, forgeable forgings in 260 ~ 350 tons; wind power, chemical equipment, ring forgings The maximum diameter reached 6300 mm. However, in the complete set of equipment, sophisticated equipment, the current domestic forgings can not meet the needs of the chemical industry.

National Development and Reform Commission and other relevant departments emphasized that major equipment must be made domestically. However, the larger the component size, the more difficult it is to manufacture, and the harder it is to control the quality and precision. To this end, Zhang Jin suggested that companies control the elastic deformation of molds to improve product accuracy, and treat low-temperature grain refinement of hot forgings to improve their strength, and complex products improve their consistency through net-type forging.
