Bosch China Sales of 1.3 Billion Euros in 2006


The Bosch Group has announced that it successfully achieved its business growth target in 2006, with global sales increasing by more than 5% and total sales reaching 43.7 billion euros. The key factor in achieving this growth is the impressive performance of Bosch's Asia-Pacific business and business units such as consumer goods, building intelligent technology and industrial technology.

Each business unit of the Bosch Group made positive contributions to the growth of 2006. As the main business pillar of the Group, the automotive technology business unit achieved sales growth of 3.5%, with total sales of 27.2 billion euros, accounting for 62% of the Group's total sales.

In 2006, the Bosch Group also continued to maintain a high level of R&D investment, with total global R&D expenditures reaching 3.3 billion Euros, accounting for 7.6% of global sales.

Asia-Pacific business made outstanding contributions to overall growth. Bosch's Asia Pacific business has achieved growth of up to 13%. In 2006, Asia Pacific revenue reached 16% of the group's total global revenue.

In China, Bosch continues to maintain rapid business development and growth. In 2006, consolidated sales revenue reached 1.3 billion euros, an increase of 30% compared with 2005. At present, Bosch has a total of 13,800 employees in China. In 2006 alone, about 3,300 new employees joined Bosch's regional business units in China.

In 2006, Bosch's various business areas have achieved a number of major developments in China. The total investment in automotive technology, industrial technology and home appliances in China is approximately 138 million euros. Among them, with the investment in the expansion of the production plant, Bosch Automotive Technology has invested more than 88 million Euros.
